James A. Asher, is a native Californian who has lived and worked in the Los Angeles-Pasadena area his entire life. He attended San Marino High School and Pasadena City College. Mr. Asher is President and co-owner of Al Asher & Sons, Inc., a seller of new and used construction and telecommunications equipment. Mr. Asher is also a board member of Al Asher & Sons, and a former board member of Asher Equipment, Alerco Corporation and Central Communications Corporation. Mr. Asher was a Founder and initial shareholder in American Business Bank. He realizes the important role a community bank plays in the development and support of the local economy. Mr. Asher brings sales and business development skills that provide an invaluable contribution to the bank.


William H. Baribault has been active in the La Canada and Pasadena area for twenty-five years. Mr. Baribault is the non-executive Chairman of Professional Business Bank and Chief Executive Officer of Henry Company, a manufacturer of roofing and related building products. Mr. Baribault led the turnaround of the business beginning January 2001 and in April 2005 facilitated the sale of the company to an elite private equity fund. From 1975 until 1998 Mr. Baribault consolidated seven companies in the fluid power sector to form the largest distributor and systems integrator of pneumatic and hydraulic automation products in the eight-state Western U.S. Region. The resulting consolidated companies were sold to a NYSE company in 1998. From 1998 to 2000, Mr. Baribault was a principal of Eagle Associates and President of Oakwood Enterprises, business consulting and investment firms. As a consultant he worked with many private and public organizations to assist in focusing their strategic, financial, operational, and marketing enterprises. Mr. Baribault is a member of Chief Executives Organization and serves on a variety of for-profit and non-profit boards. Mr. Baribault earned his BA degree from Stanford University.


Norman O. Broyer
Norm brings a solid thirty-five plus years of commercial bank lending and real estate industry experience to Professional Business Bank. He worked during the 1960’s and 70’s with Union Bank, followed by subsequent positions in lending and credit administration in Southern California community and regional banks. He holds a BS in Business Administration from UC Berkeley.


Walter H. Carleton III, a native of Kansas City, Missouri, graduated from Central Missouri State University with a BS degree in Business. He has lived and worked in Southern California for over twenty-five years. He is President, Chief Executive Officer and owner of Fidelity Creditor Service, Inc., a Collection Agency, which specializes in retail, and medical and commercial recovery. Mr. Carleton is the immediate past President of the California Association of Collectors, and has served at the state level as Member-at-Large, Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of that association. At the local level, he has served as Treasurer, Secretary, Vice President and President of the Southern California Chapter. In addition, he is active on the Executive Board and Board of Directors of the American Collector’s Association. His background in the financial service industry and risk management experience makes him a valuable addition to the management team.


Don Clark is president of Clark & Trevithick which he founded in 1977. From its inception, the firm specialized in mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, corporate securities and general business matters. Over the past 25 years, the firm has prospered into a broad-based business and litigation law firm. Don's particular expertise is in business and corporate law including corporate structuring, capital formation, acquisition and sales of businesses, franchising and shareholder and employee matters. Prior to forming Clark & Trevithick, Don began his legal career in 1959 as a corporate attorney. He received his law degree from the University of Southern California in 1959 and his bachelor's degree from Stanford University in 1956. Don is extremely active in the community at large. Currently he is on the Executive Committee for Hillsides Home for Children, a non-profit home that provides care, treatment and education for children who are victims of abuse, neglect or abandonment. He also is on the Board of Directors and Executive Committee for Performing Arts Center of Los Angeles County, an organization dedicated to the efficient operation of the Music Center and ensuring that it remains one of the most outstanding performing arts centers in the United States. Don is still an active alumnus of Stanford and has served as the chairman of the Stanford Athletic Board, as well as former national chairman of the Stanford Special Gifts Program and former member of the Stanford University Annual Fund Council. In addition, he is a member of the Advisory Committee of the Entrepreneur Program of the USC Graduate School of Business.


James G. Ellis, a native of Tacoma, Washington. He received his undergraduate deggree from the University of New Mexico and his MBA from Harvard University. Mr. Ellis is a Professor of Marketing at the University of Southern California and is the Director of the Family Business program at USC. For the past 14 years, he has resided in San Marino. In addition to his affiliation with the academic community, he also continues to remain active in business. He formerly held the position of Corporate Secretary and co-owner of Ceramichrome, a manufacturer of ceramic paint, headquartered in Ohio. During the period 1990-97, he owned and served as Chief Executive Officer of Port O' Call, a retail store in Pasadena. Mr. Ellis has served as Chairman of the Board of the Pasadena Chamber of Commerce.

Joyce Gaines, was born in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and moved to California in 1981. She majored in engineering at Villanova University and later graduated from Hubbard College with a degree in Public Relations. She is the current President, Chief Executive Officer and co-owner of United Merchant Services, a financial transaction processing firm which she helped form in 1987. Ms. Gaines also owns and operates Gaines & Associates, a PR/Marketing consulting company. With fifteen years experience in financial services, Ms. Gaines understands the industry, and relates to the opportunities it presents. Her entrepreneurial focus is a resource the bank can call upon in formulating its strategic marketing plans.


Charles J. Gonzalez, CPA, MBA, is a native of Burbank, California, and has worked in the area for over thirty years. He attended high school in Burbank, received a BS degree from San Diego State University and an MBA from the University of Southern California. He is a practicing Certified Public Accountant and Partner with the firm of Church, Gonzalez and Warner. He is also President of Charles J. Gonzalez CPA, Inc. During the period of 1975-1979, he held the position of Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer for all of the subsidiaries of Union Federal Savings and Loan Association. Mr. Gonzalez previously served as Treasurer of the Santa Monica Junior Chamber of Commerce, President of the local Toastmasters International, board member of the East Valley YMCA, the Greater LA Urban League, and also Treasurer and President of Lakeside Golf Club. Together, his skills and experience are a great asset to the bank’s CFO.


Elliot L. Shell, CPA, was born in Boston, Massachusetts. He was raised in southern California, received his BS from UCLA and his MBA from USC. He served as an officer in the Army including a tour of duty in Vietnam. He is a Certified Public Accountant and for more than twenty years has been a partner in Maginnis, Knechtel & McIntyre, a prominent Pasadena CPA firm. A thirty-year veteran of public accounting, he is a frequent speaker on tax and estate planning topics and is a leader in developing new clients for his firm. Mr. Shell has been Treasurer and a member of the Board of Trustees of Westland School and currently serves as Secretary and member of the Board of Directors of the Lactation Institute. As chairman of the audit committee, Mr. Shell's accounting experience is of great benefit to the bank.


Larry D. Tashjian, is the founder, President and CEO of CAM Capital Advisors, an opportunitistic valued based manager in all asset classes. Prior to starting CAM Capital Advisors, he was Chief Executive Officer of Provident Investment Counsel (PIC), a Pasadena-based investment company that specializes in growth stocks across all capitalizations. During his time with PIC (1981 - 2005), Mr. Tashjian was an integral part of the company's growth. In 1995, he was intimately involved in the sale of PIC to United Asset Management, a New York Stock Exchange-listed company. He would go on to serve on its board of directors. At the time of the sale, PIC was one of the largest money management acquisitions in the history of the industry. Near the end of 2000, United Asset Management was acquired by Old Mutual PLC (OM) the largest and oldest financial institution in South Africa. With PIC once again on the move, Mr. Tashjian was, again, instrumental in negotiating a successful monetary transaction for the principals of PIC for a change in corporate governance.

Prior to joining PIC, Mr. Tashjian worked for the Bank of America, both in retail banking and Corporate Finance. His professional career in investment management spans almost 30 years.

Mr. Tashjian's community and corporate activities include directorships of Annandale Golf Club where he served as its president in 2001, Bavarian Specialty Food Products, Southland Title Corporation until it was sold in 2004 to Land America Financial Group a New York Stock Exchange company, and the San Gabriel Valley chapter of Boy Scouts of America. He currently serves on the advisory council of the USC Entrepreneur Program, the advisory boards of Linage Capital Partners and PGP Capital Advisors, and the National Advisory Council for the Marriott School of Business at Brigham Young University. He helped found and now serves on the board of directors for Professional Business Bank in Pasadena, California.

In 2002, Mr. Tashjian conceptualized the Center for Investment Studies' and funded the Capital Markets Training Room. He and his wife Karen continue to ardently support the Center for Investment Studies and the Student Investment Fund. Mr. Tashjian has served as the Chairman of the Board of Advisors of the Center for Investment Studies since the inception of the center.

Mr. Tashjian holds a Bachelor of Science in finance and an MBA, both from the University of Southern California.


Trude C. Taylor, is a private investor and presently owns and operates TC Associates, a business consulting and investment management firm. Mr. Taylor currently holds, and in the past has held, directorships and the position of Chief Executive Officer of privately held and NYSE, NASDAQ and OTC listed companies. He has been an Arbitrator for the NYSE since 1989, and for NASD since 1993. Born in Canon City, Colorado, Mr. Taylor attended and received a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Los Angeles, and an MBA from Harvard University. His public service includes Trusteeships at Harvey Mudd College in Claremont, California, since 1969, and the Chandler School, Pasadena, since 1997. His successful business background and his overall financial expertise are invaluable assets to the board of directors.


William D. Truax, who graduated cum laude from State University of New York and has lived and conducted a practice in Southern California for over fifteen years. Mr. Truax is a tax and financial consultant and is President and co-owner of William D. Truax EA, Inc. He is an Enrolled Agent and a Fellow of the National Tax Practice Institute. He is a member of the Bar, U.S. Tax Court, and is admitted to practice before the Internal Revenue Service. His understanding of the service and product needs of high-profile individuals will are strong contribution in servicing our target market.


Glenn Yamada, born in Arizona, has resided in California for over fifty years. He graduated from Fresno State University. Since 1983, Mr. Yamada has been Chief Executive Officer of Glendale Eye Medical Group, Inc., an ophthalmic health organization. He also manages several business ventures. A Certified Public Accountant since 1972, he also served as Senior Auditor with Price Waterhouse. Mr. Yamada has served as a Board Member, Secretary, and Treasurer of the Glendale Chamber of Commerce.
